Richard Avedon and Dovima’s Famous Egypt Fashionshoot

Dovima may well be one of the first supermodels, having been most active in the 1950s (you may even recognize her from her cameo in the movie Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire). Her and photographer Richard Avedon collaborated often, one of their more memorable shoots being for Harper’s Bazaar in 1951 on-site in Egypt. Below is a photo dump. Sadly Dovima ended up penniless at the end of her life.
